Private rooms is a great option for large groups

My entire family had booked the room to us for the rehearsal dinner. It was large enough to hold all. The staff were generally excellent, though we had to signal our guest down several times in order to get additional drinks. They did a excellent job at serving the food in close proximity to the same time, which is impressive considering that there were around 50 people. I'm not big in seafood and I went for the chicken that was tasty as were the servings big. People seemed to be enjoying the food, and everyone seemed to have enjoyed a great time.

Do not go to at the Airport Location and eat here.

When I was last in DFW I had lunch at the Airport restaurant and felt that I had missed the real experience. My gut instincts were correct and this restaurant provided me with the flavor, hospitality and hospitality that is typically lacking in a fast pace establishment at an Airport.

The menu was filled with the essence of a wonderful Cajun dining experience. I ordered an Alligator appetizer and then the most delicious catfish meal. The bartender was very helpful in helping me avoid food sensitivities, which was not an easy feat, thank you! Very generous with the drinks offered.

The next time I visit I'll make this my first destination. It's a shame that it's located across from P.F. Chang's, but do not be concerned, just go there the following night for a night out.

Absolutely fantastic food

I can't get enough praise for the wonderful lunch we enjoyed at Pappadeaux! The food was amazing and the service was excellent (with some quirks that need to be discussed later). The server started by serving drinks and explaining the menus. She repeatedly reiterated that anything we asked for was possible to accommodate. I appreciate this kind of attitude from restaurants. We were served a small fry caulifish appetizer, which was served promptly to be served alongside the remoulade sauce as well as the spicy marinara sauce. It was the freshest, most delicious Calamari I've ever tasted.
Husband requested the catfish po'boy with rice and red beans as well as a salad with caesar. Daughter ordered half-fried shrimp po'boy and the Crawfish Bisque. I had blackened redfish along with rice and red beans along with the caesar salad. Everything we ordered was delicious! The fish, though I was a bit undercooked, was absolutely delicious. Everyone enjoyed the meal.

Here's where the zany is where the fun. Our server was clearly having problems with short-term memory this day (we named her Dory! LOL) Then, hubby ordered the Dos Equis after which she told him his Shiner was coming and he reminded her that this wasn't Dos Equis.

She served him a Shiner! It was okay; we didn't take issue about it. Our food was brought out without salads. As we were assessing the amount of foodwe had, we felt a little relieved but did not mention the missing salads. My daughter then thought she'd like to order a dessert to bring back to the room to enjoy later. So the dessert platter was brought out. A wonderful description of the various choices was given. She chose the praline cheesecake to take home. Dory brought Key Lime Pie! But she was able to quickly deliver the right dessert to us and then let us have the pie (it was not very tasty unfortunately). Daughter thought that the cheesecake was delicious.

Avoid your Airport Location and eat here.

My last visit to DFW I had lunch at the Airport place and was feeling like I had not experienced the full experience. My gut feeling was right and this restaurant provided me with all the flavor, warmth and hospitality that is typically lacking in a fast moving establishment like an Airport. The menu was filled with the flavor of a great Cajun dining experience. I ordered an Alligator appetizer and an excellent dinner of catfish. The bartender was extremely helpful in helping me to avoid food sensitivities, which was not an easy feat, thank you! Very generous with the drinks offered. The next time I visit and this will be my first destination. It's a shame it's just across from P F Chang's, but do not be concerned, just go there the next night to enjoy a night out.

The Definitive Guide to Austin's Oyster Happy Hours

By Anastacia Uriegas

Apothecary ATX

It's commonly believed that the first person to taste an oyster was a brave man it's the case... since these delicious pearl farms can be costly. It's not necessary to be brave to purchase a dozen oysters so long as you are aware that oyster happy hour is there and that Austin is home to a lot of oysters. We've made 19 of the most popular in town, so you can sample as numerous Gulf, East, and West Coast varieties as you would like:

Apothecary Cafe & Wine Bar

Burnet Road

The intimate restaurant offers wines and snacks which are ideal for light dinners with friends , or for a date nights. They also have an amazing oyster selection. Every day between 4pm and 7pm, their happy hour offers the option of getting a half dozen oysters at $3 or $6 off an oyster. There's a wide selection that is oysters that are fresh East along with West Coast offerings. Add this date to your calendars: Apothecary does West Coast Wednesdays and offers the price of $2 West Coast oysters all night all night. Also, on Mondays and Sundays, there is $10 off all bottles wine throughout the evening long. Saturday's special offer is 50% off every bottles of champagne, all evening long.

Foreign & Domestic

Foreign & Domestic

North Loop / Hyde Park

Every Monday, people who are who are aware head at Foreign & Domestic for Dollar Oyster Monday. Be sure to arrive early for a sought-after place at the bar, and then enjoy the variety of East Coast oysters and drink specials. You can also enjoy a menu that includes poached shrimp Squid, and Southern-inspired dishes to go with the raw oysters.

Parkside

Sixth Street

The Happy Hour menu with Parkside Parkside is the ideal option to enjoy a delicious meal and not blow your budget. Between 5pm and 6:30 pm, on Mondays and Fridays, guests receive half price off Bar menu items, as well as beer and cocktails. The Oyster Plate, which is normally $30, is an absolute bargain at just $16. We suggest serving your meal of mollusks with some Parkside fries, and perhaps a couple of glasses of Prosecco.

Abel's

University of Texas (& other campuses)

Relax by the lake or in the cozy North Austin location and take advantage of their insane happy hour specials. From Monday to Friday from 4pm to 6pm (Abel's at the lake) or 4pm - 7pm (Abel's North) You can enjoy the price of $1 Gulf Coast oysters along with the option of $4 selected beers as well as $3.50 Deep Eddy vodka drinks.

Eddie V's Prime Seafood

Arboretum (& Other Locations)

The restaurant is known for its abundant Happy Hour (Monday as well as Sunday all day! and from Tuesday to Saturday between 4pm to 7pm), Eddie V's offers $1 Louisiana oysters on ice, with a bright Mignonette sauce. There is also live music and cocktails.

Truluck's

Warehouse District (and various other locations)

One of the most popular HHs is Truluck's elegantly named "Cocktail Hour." The included East Coast oysters are $2.50 We couldn't help to notice the huge discounts that are also available on selected drinks, appetizers and more importantly cocktails. The mixed-up enthusiast has her sights set on "Ipso Facto," a martini made from handcrafted Saint. George Terroir Gin for only $6.

Lucy's Fried Chicken

South Congress (& other locations)

Even though this isn't a weekly one-night special or happy hour however, the pricing at Lucy's is hard to overlook. The dozen fresh Gulf oysters from Lucy's costs at just $14. The menu at Lucy's isn't not complete without tasting the Lucha-style oysters grilled on wood, cooked with wood. They are filled with buffalo sauce with Worcestershire, cilantro, and bacon.

Blackbird and Henry

Campus

This hidden gem in the campus area serves a variety of delicious seasonal comfort food influenced by a variety of cuisines as well as great oyster prices in addition. on Sundays East Coast oysters are 50% off at 5pm. Also, Sazerac is available on tap also.

Hillside Farmacy

East Eleventh

Hillside Farmacy is known for its trendy, retro style and is a popular meeting place for Austin's gorgeous people. Hillside Farmacy is also famous for the amazing Monday night oyster specials which include half-price East Coast oysters and $5 bubbles between 5pm and 10pm.

Shoal Creek Saloon

North Lamar

It's hard not to appreciate the old school vibe that is the Shoal Creek Saloon, which's iconic sign still displays "Color T.V." You are wondering what else we like? Dozens of Gulf Oysters in a half-shell, which only cost $13.99. It's less than a buck per oyster, you know what I mean.

Liberty Kitchen & Oyster Bar

Liberty Kitchen is situated just west of Lamar and, it has a huge menu of Texas-inspired seafood and a acceptable happy hour. Every day, between 3pm and 6pm The Liberty Kitchen is located in Dallas. Liberty Kitchen offers 50 cents off Gulf and East Coast oysters. The restaurant's Happy Hour also offers half-price the queso, as well as a selection of wines.

Clark's Oyster Bar

Clarksville

The Clark's restaurant, which is sunny and nautical, is the top of the listYou will find here an extensive selection of oysters from the East as well as West coasts. This includes Washington, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, British Columbia, and Prince Edward Island. Happy hour is available between 3 and 6 pm on Mondays and Fridays The variety of fresh oysters is 50 cents cheaper. A tip for you: try the amazing sourdough bread and then request a second.

Perla's

South Congress

On South Congress Austin's very own version of Disneyland Perla's restaurant takes care of tourists and residents alike. We love the happy hour, with 50C/off oysters and $2 off drinks between 3pm and 6pm, from Monday to Friday. Also, as you're aware Perla's isn't a joke. This includes the most fresh East as well as West Coast oyster selection you can find.

Mongers Market + Kitchen

East Cesar Chavez

Newish Eastside establishment, Mongers is now hosting an afternoon Wednesday Oyster Social from 2pm-6pm with half-priced oysters and $5 selection of wines and $1 off drafts as well as $5 sangria.

Whole Foods

The Domain

Every day from 3pm to 5pm, from 3pm to 5pm, the Draft Shack located inside Whole Foods offers char-grilled oysters at $1.75 as well as 40+ beer on the tap. Whole Foods hack: we've seen people order the oysters from the actual seafood counter (where they'll be shucking the oysters to you) and then strolling over to The Draft Shack and enjoying them with an ice cold drink. We wouldn't consider it unprofessional considering that you've just paid for your entire salary in food items.

dine

Downtown

The restaurant is in the Radisson Hotel, which is located on the intersection of Cesar Chavez and Congress. The oyster deals are just too good to be believed. For example, Monday through Friday , from 4pm to 6pm the oysters are 50% off. Then there's one dollar Buck Shucks Happy Hour -with $1 oysters on Sundays and Mondays between 4pm and closing. We're not even getting to talk about the amazing alcohol and beer selection that's also marked down. Go.

Alcomar

South First

Beachy and bright Alcomar serves half-dozen Gulf oysters for $9 during the happy hour, which is all day, from 3pm to 6pm. The orange habanero mignonette makes an ideal accompaniment to large, briny oysters. Combine it with Alcomar's $4 HH the cheladas -which include Pacifico lime, beer Cholula Worcestershire, El Chile rim.

Quality Seafood Market

Airport Blvd

Quality Seafood has been around for quite a while, providing the wholesale supply of Austin's seafood restaurants, and operating a small eatery in addition. It is a great place to relax every Thursday between 6pm and 9pm to enjoy Texas Gulf oysters on the half shell for $1.50 each, along with an ice cool Lone Star.

Pacific Rim Sushi & Yakitori Lounge

Burnet Road

The North Austin based diners rejoice as Pacific Rim now has an evening menu that is Tuesday night dollar. Apart from the usual highlights like freshly made the yakitori and sushi skewers Sake Bombs Coconut shrimp and more, Pacific Rim also has the... you guessed the surprise... freshly prepared and Panko-fried oysters that cost just $1. The lounge also has large-screen televisions that are constantly showing "the game." Don't overlook the Polynesian cocktails on tap while you're there.
